COURSES AND FEES
(Effective October1, 2008)
All fees for the programs offered by Trinity Response Resource include textbooks, course materials, and Completion Cards. Course lengths are approximate and may vary according to the number of students, question-and-answer sessions, or any remedial instruction necessary. Classes are available for individuals or groups; discounts are available for large classes (5 or more students).
Fees apply for classes conducted in West Pasco County (Holiday, Hudson, New Port Richey, Port Richey and Odessa), North Pinellas County (Tarpon Springs, Palm Harbor, Crystal Beach, Ozona, Countryside, Dunedin, Oldsmar, and Safety Harbor), Southwest Hernando County (Spring Hill), and Northwest Hillsborough County (Keystone, Lutz/Lake Fern, Citrus Park, Carrollwood, and Westchase), Florida. Longer distances may incur additional charges for transportation expenses, depending on class size; call for details.
ASHI emphasizes rescuer safety and infection control in all emergency situations, and provides information on the Good Samaritan Law and other legal issues; the Instructor is responsible for safety in the classroom at all times. Maximum class size for CPR is 10 students; 20 students for Basic First Aid.
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Basic First Aid for the Community & Workplace: $40.00 per student (4 hours)
Concentrates on the first 5 minutes of care in the event of a serious illness or injury; teaches the student how to perform basic care and management of numerous situations of trauma (injuries caused by impact), burns, shock, and many non-traumatic injuries (including diabetic emergencies, environmental emergencies, and severe allergic reactions). Successful completion of skills and 77% or greater score on a written examination required for certification. Completion Cards are valid for 3 years.
CPR & AED for the Community & Workplace: $45.00 per student (4 hours, original certification)
Specifically designed for the lone lay rescuer or citizen responder. Teaches the student the risk factors for cardiac arrest and stroke; how to recognize life-threatening emergencies, and teaches the correct and most effective methods of performing CPR and clearing a Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (choking incident) on adults, children, and infants. Also teaches the student how to apply and use an Automated External Defibrillator(AED) to administer an electrical shock to the heart in order to restore it to normal rhythm. Successful performance of skills and 70% or greater score on a written examination required for certification (for citizen lay rescuers, written examination may be waived at the discretion of the instructor; written exam is required for workplaces). Completion cards are valid for 2 years. Recertification is available prior to expiration of a Completion Card (or within 30 days after expiration; card is not valid during this grace period). Recertification is $20.00 for student with original textbook; $25.00 if new textbook required.
PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS
CPR & AED for the Professional Rescuer (CPR PRO): $45.00 per student (4 hours, original certification)
Designed for the EMS provider and the licensed healthcare professional, CPR PRO is a professional-level program that teaches the correct Basic Cardiac Life Support techniques of CPR that can be performed by one or two rescuers on adults, children, and infants. Also teaches advanced airway management skills (bag-valve mask devices, crichoid pressure, and CPR on a patient with an advanced airway such as an endotracheal tube), a separate CPR procedure for newborns (less than 28 days of age), and how to apply and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Successful performance of skills (which will be documented in writing) and 77% or greater score on a written examination required for certification. Completion Cards are valid for 2 years. Recertification is available prior to expiration of a Completion Card (or within 30 days after expiration; card is not valid during this grace period). Recertification is $20.00 for student with original textbook; $25.00 if new textbook required.
Professional-level programs may be eligible for Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit, depending on the regulations of the employer and/or state of licensure of the healthcare professional. For EMS personnel, they may also be eligible for CME credit through the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS).
Trinity Response Resource is authorized to conduct basic-level programs ONLY; it is not authorized to conduct advanced programs (such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or First Responder). These programs are only available through an Advanced ASHI Training Center.
